Overlooking the greens at Tara Iti, this pavilion-style home was designed for overseas clients who desired a modern retreat that embraced the rugged coastal setting. A sweeping roof creates a pavilion, offset by a stepped front wall that provides privacy and unique views from each space.

The house balances clean modern lines with warmth and texture – it’s clad in New Zealand grown timbers, with lined interiors of NZ oak and elm. Prefabricated floors, walls, and roof elements enabled rapid construction while maintaining quality. The result is a refined yet natural home—light on the land, deeply connected to its environment, and expressive of both craft and innovation.
