Cable Bay
Nelson

Located close to the coastline at Cable Bay, this family home was constrained by planning requirements to the footprint of the original dwelling. The challenge became an opportunity to design a house that captures sweeping views, connects with the land, and endures the demands of a coastal environment.

The home is expressed as two distinct gable forms, joined by a central entry. From here, a picture-frame window draws the eye outward, immediately connecting visitors with the surrounding landscape and ocean views.

Durable materials and a simple, resilient form ensure the house will stand up to its exposed setting while providing a warm and contemporary family retreat.
