In 1998 the directors Craig Haywood and Tony Williamson identified there was an opening in the design market place for a well resourced, professional design company which covered a broad range of disciplines. After developing a business plan they set up TW Design Limited which later became DesignBASE Limited in 2002. Our plan recognised that although we were to be multi-disciplined, we needed to employ experts in each of the divisions - for instance our Architectural designers only do architectural projects. Since establishing the company we have built up our team to focus on setting and achieving high quality standards.

In 2004 DesignBASE opened further offices in Nelson in Te Anau and in 2007, opened offices in Alexandra and Dunedin.
