BOAT DESIGN

BOAT DESIGN:
There are several critical steps and factors to consider in the design of your boat. From the initial concepts, to lines drawings, to the hydrostatics, and through to final construction drawings. We can look after the whole design process for you.

3D COMPUTER MODELLING:
The 3D modelling process includes both sheet metal and composite construction. Our unique 3D design process ensures that the information we provide for construction is extremely accurate.

HYDROSTATICS

HYDROSTATICS:
After the 3D model is produced, we then perform basic hydrostatics and evaluate the results. This procedure helps us to validate the vessels intended performance.

OPTIMISATION FOR MANUFACTURE:
We look to optimise the final design to suit both material usage and manufacturing techniques. In doing this we design for any special tooling requirements. We also look to utilise self-jigging features where possible
OPTIMISATION FOR MANUFACTURE

PHOTO-REALISTIC IMAGING & ANIMATION

PHOTO-REALISTIC IMAGING & ANIMATION:
Photo-realistic renderings and animations, taken directly from the 3D model, can be used to confirm the design intention and aesthetics. Renderings provide a clear and legible illustration of what the final product will look like. This material can also be used for presentation purposes such as hardcopy and website marketing.

MARINE SURVEY DRAWINGS:
Before commencing with the final design, marine survey drawings and calculations can be produced. Assistance can also be provided with co-ordinating submittal documents that maybe required in obtaining any necessary maritime certification.

FULLY DETAILED CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS

FULLY DETAILED CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS:
Using the data obtained directly from the 3D model, fully detailed construction drawings are produced. Typically these show profile elevations, body views, sections, offsets, and basic set-out dimensions.

FIBREGLASS FORM MODELLING:
Producing plug moulds for composite components is quick and easy. Again utilising the 3D model, electronic data coding can be transmitted seamlessly across to any CNC machine centre. This ensures the design intent and accuracy of the parts remain intact.

FULL CUT FILES, NESTING AND PATTERN DIGISTING

FULL CUT FILES, NESTING AND PATTERN DIGITISING:
Developed pattern creation is an automated process. Once all the 3D sheet metal parts are unfolded, they are then nested onto appropriate sheet sizes and optimised ready for CNC cutting. Details such as notch marks to indicate bend lines can be easily added - these features add to increased productivity. Alternatively full sized paper prints can be provided.

Another service that we offer is to digitise existing cardboard patterns. Once reproduced into a CAD format, the parts can again be nested and optimised for CNC cutting.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS EQUIPMENT DESIGN:
When it comes time to manufacture your vessel, jigging and framing can be specifically designed. Information taken from the 3D boat model ensures an exact match to the jig. This enables precise manufacturing accuracy which inturn saves on build time.

interior design

INTERIOR DESIGN:
Interior concepts can be easily visualised and manipulated with our 3D software, making it easier to make a decision about the final interior layout of your vessel.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
Project management is all about getting the job done, on-time and within budget. As Project Managers, we provide support to ensure a smooth and efficient flow of the project. Quality control and clear communications is another important aspect that we look to deliver.
