This position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work as an integral part of a dynamic architectural design team. The successful applicant will be involved in a wide variety of residential and commercial projects.
The successful applicant will need to have significant experience in residential and commercial design documentation. The role will require close interaction with the production manager, other designers and technicians in the team.
You must lead by example and have the confidence and assertiveness to manage and mentor others. You will be expected to provide clear instruction to team members and assist in resolving technical issues. A pivotal aspect of the role will be the need to ‘inspect what we expect’ and deliver the final output to a high standard. A total commitment to accuracy and quality is essential.

Key Accountabilities:
- Design of commercial and residential projects
- Mentor/train others in the team
- Constantly review and improve the way we do things
- Cultivate the team, run cad and efficiently meetings, assist other team members as required
- Report to Production Manager and link with designers
- Inpect what we expect around draughting deliverables, efficiencies and budget hours
- Client liaison on technical aspects as and when required
- Provide project costing (budget hours estimates)
- Site visits and measure ups
- Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant codes, technical information, draughting standards, equipment, techniques and software applications.
- Undertake techincal reviews as appropriate
- Comply with company standards and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:
- 10 years minimum proven track record of relevant New Zealand experiencce (domestic & commercial)
- Thorough understanding of NZS3604, NZBC and architectural detailing.
- Excellent knowledge of current construction practices.
- Have a willingness to obtain a building practitioner’s design license.
- Hold a diploma in architectural draughting, NZCAD or degree in architecture
- Proficiency using cad software (Archicad prefered)
